On Thursday, April 28, the Hornets welcomed the Auks of Archmere Academy to Kohler Field and unfortunately fell 13-8. Tre Marcoz ‘24, Michael McGinley ‘24, and Jacob Glazier ‘25 shared pitching duties on the day.  After staking Archmere to a 13-1 lead, Tatnall posted 7 unanswered runs. Unfortunately, the deficit was too much to overcome. Marcoz, Glazier, Brody Clayton ‘22, and Luke Kain ‘25 all tallied multiple hits for the offense.

The Tatnall nine dropped a tough game to the Seahawks of Sussex Academy on Saturday, April 30, 8-0.  Tre Marcoz, Luke Kain, and Brody Clayton each took a turn on the mound while Justin Marvel ‘23 collected his first hit as a Hornet.  Jacob Glazier and Jimmy Catalano ‘24 also had hits on this difficult day.

The Hornets got themselves off of the schnide on a sunny Tuesday afternoon at Kohler Field as they won 6-3 against First State Military Academy.  Brody Clayton toed the rubber for his first start of the season and combined with Jacob Glazier to strike out 9 batters as Clayton picked up the win and Glazier earned a save.  While only recording 4 hits on the day, Tatnall took advantage of 4 free passes and some defensive miscues to push across 6 runs.  Michael McGinley scored 3 times and Clayton crossed the plate twice.

The Hornets hosted the Odessa Ducks on Wednesday with another W 7-3. Tre Marcoz twirled a gem allowing only three hits and one earned run over six innings, and Andrew Scott ‘22 closed the door in the 7th. The Hornets’ offense started off hot with back-to-back triples from McGinley and Scott as they put up a 3-spot in the first inning.  Scott led the squad with 3 hits and Brody Clayton chipped in 2 and drove in 3 runs on the day.

The Hornets travel to Sanford on Thursday, May 5, and return to Kohler Field on Saturday to host Mount Pleasant.
