Over the last several weeks, a small group of students in grade 4 and 5 have been studying the impact of a potential chemical spill from an overturned truck on the Tyler McConnell Bridge. This morning, they met with members of Delaware Department of Transportation to learn how Hazmat would respond, and how they would determine how to reroute traffic. After break, they will head to Hagley Museum to learn how the ecology of the Brandywine River would be affected if the chemicals spilled off the bridge and into the river.
