Extended Day
Our Extended Day staff provides a warm and relaxed environment at each location: The Myers Building (Early Childhood), The Sedgely Building (Lower School), and the Beekley Building (Middle School).
Whether you’re looking for supervised care after school or an extra opportunity for your child to have fun, get help with homework, or participate in enrichment programs, Extended Day is a wonderful resource for Tatnall families. Extended Day is open from dismissal until 6pm. The Extended Day program also offers "school's out days" to provide care for families on half-days and days that school is closed.
When paired with A Tatnall Summer, Extended Day provides a seamless year of care and programming with the people and approaches you trust.

Program by Division
At Extended Day in the Early Childhood Division, we focus on providing a safe, fun environment for purposeful play after school. Our team encourages curiosity, builds social skills, and teaches basic problem-solving. Students engage in arts and crafts activities, play their favorite games like building with blocks, participate in imaginative play with costumes, and enjoy plenty of outside time.
In Extended Day at the Lower School, we provide students with opportunities for personal choice with outdoor play, time to complete homework, and plenty of meaningful interaction with friends. Ongoing collaboration with Lower School teachers helps ensure that we provide continuity of support to students in a caring and relaxed environment.
Since Middle School student's schedules change so often, students may enroll in our daily drop-in plan, and be billed only for the days they attend Extended Day. If you anticipate using extended care daily and would like to take advantage of one of our plans, please log on to register for a seasonal plan.
Enrollment Options
Since Middle School students’ schedules and the level of care needed change so often, we bill monthly for the hours in care at the end of each month.
Enrichment Programs
Child Drama Workshops
This interactive drama program includes creative movement, theatre exercises, and improvisational role-playing. Basic acting techniques such as concentration, emotional awareness, and characterization are explored. This creative experience allows children to express themselves imaginatively by improvising favorite stories and original ideas.
Soccer Shots
Soccer Shots is an engaging children’s soccer program with a focus on character development. Coaches implement a proven program that positively impacts participants’ lives on and off the field.
Video Game Design
Students will learn the basics of video game design by making their own video games with Bloxels. When students create video games, they become writers, artists, designers, and developers of their own interactive stories. Video Game Design Club offers a cutting-edge program for students to learn how to design their own game characters and video game levels. In this Fall Semester program, the Video Game Design Club will focus on having the campers use their imagination to create a 2D platform (Super Mario-like) video game. While this program provides an introduction to game design, all skill levels are welcome.
Chess Masters
