After a rainout on Saturday, the Tatnall nine played host to the Saints of St. Andrew’s School.  Jacob Glazier picked up the win on the mound with 5 strong innings of relief pitching.  Brody Clayton’s clutch 2 out, 2 run single in the bottom of the 6th broke a 3-3 tie.  St. Andrew’s rallied in the 7th to cut the lead to 1, but Glazier pitched out of a 2 on nobody out jam with 2 strikeouts followed by a ground out to close the game.

Wednesday, May 18: St. Andrew’s 5 - Tatnall 2

Tatnall traveled to Middletown on Wednesday for the back end of the home-and-home series with St. Andrew’s.  Tre Marcoz toed the rubber for the Hornets and went the distance with 4 strikeouts and solid defense behind him.  Unfortunately, St. Andrew’s jumped out to a quick lead that they never relinquished.  The Hornets threatened in nearly every inning, but were not able to convert.  Michael McGinley ‘24 paced the offense with 2 hits, 2 walks, 2 runs scored and 3 stolen bases.  Additionally, the pride of Bray, Ireland, Jack Golden, made his first start for the Hornets in right field and in his second plate appearance, dropped down a sacrifice bunt to move 2 runners into scoring position.

The Hornets will recognize their seniors: Brody Clayton, Andrew Scott, Jake Austin, and Evan Cox prior to our final game on Thursday against Brandywine.
