This past Saturday, our Field Hockey team traveled down the road to battle with a big rival, Tower Hill School. The Hornets destroyed Tower Hill’s undefeated record this season to win 3-1. This match was an overall solid team effort. However, the defensive effort was vital in taking over this game. Junior Rachel Whitehead ’23 had one goal, while senior Teryn Singer ’22 had two. This win not only continued the Hornets’ undefeated streak, but this was the first time Tatnall FH has beaten Tower Hill since 2013, which was head coach Kelsey Martin’s ’15 junior year. This 2021 Tatnall team successfully ended an 8-year losing streak.
With continued momentum, the Hornets triumphed over St.Marks on Tuesday, September 21, with a strong score of 4-1. Another solid collective performance by the team, with dispersed scoring. Goals were scored by: junior Rachel Whitehead ‘23, senior Teryn Singer ‘22, junior Olivia Perrin ‘23, and junior Kali Clayton ‘23. This win continues the team’s undefeated streak.
The Hornets are currently 4-0 and will face off with Wilmington Friends School tomorrow, September 24, at Wilmington Friends.
