Although outnumbered in the pool, the Tatnall Boys Swim Team had an excellent showing in a close loss to Mt. Pleasant on Tuesday. Tatnall took 1st in 8 out of the 11 events of the meet. Briggs Light ’22 (200 Free; 500 Free), Niles Commodore ’24 (100 Fly; 100 Back), and Blake Erkenbrecher ’26 (50 Free; 100 Free) each won both of their individual events. Those three then combined with Aiden Huber ’23 to win both the 200 Free Relay and the 400 Free Relay.
 

Additionally, the Tatnall Girls Swim Team had some great individual performances in a tough loss to Mt. Pleasant on Tuesday. Stella Petersen ’25 proved herself to be the fastest woman in the pool by winning both the 50 Free and 100 Free. Anna Hammerschmidt ’26 added to Tatnall's success by winning the 200 IM and taking 2nd in the 100 Breast.
 

Notably, 4 Hornets achieved a total of six new State Qualifying cut times at the meet: Niles Commodore ’24 (100 Back); Stella Petersen ’25 (50 Free; 100 Free); Blake Erkenbrecher ’26 (50 Free; 100 Free); Anna Hammerschmidt ’26 (200 IM). While 5 Tatnall Swimmers had season-best times at the meet: Niles Commodore ’24 (100 Fly); Stella Petersen ’25 (100 Free); Morgan Noel ’26 (200 Free); Blake Erkenbrecher ’26 (100 Free); Jacob Politis ’26 (100 Free; 100 Breast).
 

The Hornets’ next meet will be this Friday, January 14, facing Brandywine HS.
