Last Friday, January 21, the Tatnall Girls Basketball team traveled to conference foe Tower Hill’s gymnasium cool, calm, and ready to handle business. Our girls scored early and often as the score at halftime was Tatnall 30 and Tower 11. Despite some questionable calls, a gym riddled with dead spots, and a boisterous Tower bench, the Hornets did not falter as the game ended, Tatnall 57 Tower 30. This game featured standout all-around performances from Cherish Bryant ’25 and Bri Gautier ’23. Cherish finished the game with 10 points while Bri had 12.

Mentally prepared for another loud home crowd, our girls traveled to Padua. Again, the cooler heads prevailed as the Hornets walked away with another win, Tatnall 61 Padua 42. Due to some highly questionable calls the coaches had to consult the DIAA handbook on, some unforced turnovers, and overall nerves, the Hornets went into halftime tied 26-26. However, after some magic words from Coach Paul, the girls returned energized and ready to show the Pandas how hard the Hornets can sting. The girls came out of the 3rd quarter with 17 points, while the Pandas scored nothing. This third quarter truly set the tone for the rest of the game as Tatnall walked away with their heads high after winning 61-42. Sophie Kirby ’22, kept her head in the game as she dropped 20 points on the Pandas.

Our 8-2 girls will go on to finally play at home today, January 27, against St. Andrews.
