On Thursday, February 10, Tatnall Girls Varsity Basketball faced an athletic Wilmington Charter on their Senior Night. The Hornets prevailed as they held off the Force for a 56-45 win. Sophie Kirby ’22 had a standout performance as she dropped 20 points, which included 4 three-pointers. Additionally, Emma Kirby ’23 had 13, Kali Clayton ‘23 had 9, Cherish Bryant ‘25 had 8, Bri Gautier ’23 had 4, and Jordan Cella ’22 had 2. Overall, a solid Senior Night for Girls Basketball.

Following this win, our Hornets were gearing up for a rematch against the top-ranked Sanford Warriors on Wednesday, February 16. After a tough and tight back-and-forth with both teams exchanging the lead, unfortunately, the Hornets fell 39-47. Despite the tough loss, there was still much to keep the Hornets optimistic. Emma had a strong showing on the box score, leading the team with 11 points. Additionally, some momentum-swinging plays by Bri and Cherish. Bri ended her night with 8 points and Cherish added 6.

Our girls are currently ranked #5 in the state and are looking to get back in the “W” column as they take on Wilmington Christian today, February 17, at home.
