The Tatnall Winter Track team competed in their final meet of the season before the State Championship.
The Tower Hill Invitational #5 was a highly competitive event at Tower Hill's 153-meter track. Lexie Tarlue '24 placed third in the 55m dash in a season-best of 7.56 seconds. Hadley Hinmon '24 raced her way to a 29.56 in the 200 meters and was Tatnall's first girl finisher! Niyah Kellman '23 placed 14th in the 400-meter dash in 68.49. Delaney Campanelli '22 won her heat but placed 2nd overall in the 800 meters in a time of 2:30.34. Carlita Kaliher '24 placed 1st in the 1600 meters in 5:29.54, coming within 2 seconds of her personal lifetime best. Kiara Davis '26 ran a season-best of 9.37 to place 2nd in 55-meter hurdles. Ariana Hernandez '25 placed 4th in the High Jump, clearing 4'10" and tying her season-best. In addition, Hernandez placed 2nd in the long jump soaring 16'9"! Camille Johnson '25 took gold in the triple jump in 32'2.5" – she has consistently been strong in this event. Finally, Nyree Kellman '23 was Tatnall's finest thrower of the day in the shot put with a season-best of 23'0.25"!
It was a great day for the boys on the track and in the throwing circle! We like to call it a PR Palooza! Manvir Syan '22 ran his season-best in the 55-meter dash with a time of 7.16. Wyatt Leary '23 raced very well in the 200 meters with a time of 26.12. Will Peyton '24 ran his lifetime best in the 400 meters in a time of 71.57. Micah Earnest '23 was Tatnall's first finisher in the 800 meters running 2:14.00, while freshman Ben Pizarro '25 dropped almost 7 seconds in the same event running 2:14.75 for his lifetime best. A meet highlight was the off-the-charts running of freshman Nikolai Latina '25 in the 1600 meters crushing his lifetime best by 7 seconds running 5:09.28. Cam Wright '22 reached a new lifetime best in the triple jump of 33'6". Tatnall shot put contingent all threw lifetime best marks with Josh Booth '24 in at 44'3", Justin Smith '24 in at 40'10", and George Hughes '24 throwing 29.6"! What a great day for Tatnall Track and Field.
This Saturday is the Indoor Track State Championship held at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. Please wish us luck!
