Tatnall 8, Sanford 2 - Monday, April 18 @ Tatnall
Over five days last week, the Tatnall nine managed to dodge enough raindrops to defeat Sanford 8-2.
Andrew Scott ‘22 toed the rubber again as the teams completed three innings before the rains came and suspended the game. Scott also scored both runs for Tatnall that day. The first on a single from Tre Marcoz ‘24 and the second by inducing the Sanford pitcher into a balk.
Sanford scratched out a pair of runs to tie the game, but Tatnall erupted in the 5th inning for a six spot. Jimmy Catalano ‘24 started things off with a single up the middle, followed by a single from Luke Kain ‘25, and Michael McGinley ‘24 worked a walk to load the bases. Scott and Marcoz followed with back-to-back doubles to push the lead to 6-2. Jacob Glazier ‘25 and Eli Halverson-Frazier ‘25 also contributed hits, and Elliot Bishop ‘25 capped the inning with a bases-loaded walk. After this onslaught, the officials deemed the field unplayable due to worsening weather conditions which ended the contest.
Tatnall returns to Kohler field today, April 21, against Tower Hill.
