On Saturday, October 9, the Tatnall football team defeated Delcastle 39-6. While it took a total team effort for the win, the individual performances of senior Nasir Obey ’22 and sophomore Justin Smith ’24 helped lead the team. The Hornets received the opening kick-off and drove the ball 55 yards for the game’s first score, which was capped off by a Justin Smith ’24  touchdown. Both Obey and Smith's defensive efforts helped hold the opponent scoreless until the game’s final minutes. In the closing moments of the fourth quarter, with Delcastle driving, Obey intercepted a Cougars pass and returned it 37 yards for a touchdown to seal the victory for the Hornets. Smith finished with one rushing touchdown, a 2 point conversion, four total tackles, two sacks, and one tackle for a loss. Obey led the team in tackles with 7 to go along with his game-sealing interception and a defensive score.

Our boys are currently 2-3 and looking to continue this win streak as they face Christiana this Saturday, October 16, during their first away game of the season.
